Kettlebell MoveStrong Training Club
Strength and proper movement are the foundation for health and physical performance. Our MoveStrong training sessions offer a fun, informal club-type training environment that is appropriate for people of all fitness levels. Our goal is to build a strong kettlebell training community in Ithaca and help each individual:
Anyone may come to an initial MoveStrong session at no cost. We'll start teaching you the basic exercises and you can see if it's something you want to continue with. If it is, you'll move through a structured series of initial workouts designed to improve all the components of fitness mentioned above in a safe and progressive manner. As you progress, we'll gradually introduce more advanced exercises and adjust your workout program to suit your individual needs and goals.
More intense metabolic-conditioning-type workouts can be built on a foundation of strength and proper movement, if appropriate for the goals and interests of each trainee.

MoveStrong training sessions are currently being offered at the following times:
Mondays, 5:30-6:15 pm
Wednesdays, 5:30-6:15 pm
Saturdays, 1:30-2:15 pm
Cost: First session free, then $45 per month

When you're ready to start coming regularly, you can pay the monthly training fee using the PayPal button below, or pay by cash or check in person. (Please make checks payable to "Steve Ponton.")

- learn, improve, and refine form and technique in all kettlebell exercises
- build strength
- improve joint mobility, hip, core, and shoulder stability, and overall functional movement quality
- improve cardiovascular conditioning and lose weight if needed

Kettlebell Afterburn - Metabolic Conditioning Class
(Note: Afterburn classes are not currently being offered, but will resume later in 2014. To get started with kettlebell training now, join the MoveStrong training program described above.)
This is a challenging, fast-paced, 30-minute class session that focuses on fat-burning and overall conditioning. We'll combine kettlebells and bodyweight exercises into a metabolic conditioning workout that will have you sweating, breathing hard, and burning calories for hours after the training is done. Afterburn classes are not currently being offered. We expect them to resume in fall 2013. If you're interested in training with kettlebells, please check out the MoveStrong training described above, and e-mail us if you have questions.

All classes are held at Fall Creek Studios, 1201 N. Tioga St. (at the intersection of Tioga and Falls Streets, in the former Fall Creek Pictures building). The entrance to the studio is located on the left side of the building. Come in to the lobby area and go through the double doors to get to the studio. See the map below:

Bring water! There is no water fountain at the facility where training is held, so please bring your own. Trust me, you'll want it!
The facility has restrooms, but no locker room or changing area.
Any type of workout attire is fine. For kettlebell exercises, bare feet or firm, flat-soled shoes are ideal. Highly cushioned running shoes are less effective.
Please bring a standard-size hand towel to your first month or so of classes.
